I've got this link from my husband this morning. He got the message from his friends at office in Kalimantan. He offered another vacation for us, hahaha (C'mon hun, we've just travelled not more than 2 weeks ago, I think my body need some rest, hehehe)
SAMBOJA LODGE
When I see the website, I quite impressed. This is veryyy... Indonesia! I'm happy there are people who care about Indonesian animals, like orangutans. It is founded by BOS,a volunteer company that organises conservation programmes. BOS Wanariset was the very first project of BOS. It was established to help the many orangutan orphans confiscated by the government and to attempt to rehabilitate and release them back into the forest. Most of the orangutans in the rehabilitation center were either confiscated by the Department of Forestry or handed over voluntarily to the project by (local) people who held them as pets, while not insignificant numbers were returned from other countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand and others.
Samboja Lodge located about 38km from Balikpapan. Many people around the world come here (funny that I'm an Indonesian people hasn't come there yet). Balikpapan has international airport, so it isn't difficult for foreigner come here, you could come here from Singapore airport. In Samboja Lodge, they accept US Dollars, Rupiahs, and Euro. For people who likes to adventure and getting closer with orangutans, this is very good for you. Don't worry, Indonesia is a beautiful country, and very secure.
